April Arts Walk at the Art Party

It’s the first downtown arts walk of the year!
We’re very excited to host three amazing exhibits, so be sure to drop by and see how we’ve transformed the space!

Featured artist North River Art’s “Plastic Fantastic” exhibition is an exploration of folk art in recycled single-use plastic sheet media. The exhibit includes abstract quilts, garments and 2D pieces that use traditional fabric making processes and sewing. It presents an interesting dialogue on waste and legacy; contrasting the lifelong care and use of heritage craftsmanship with single-use plastics that will pollute for centuries.
Join us for the reception Friday evening from 5 to 7 p.m.

WV Interior Art Project
“A showcase of artwork by incarcerated individuals”
This exhibit benefits CASA for Kids, an incredible organization that supports and promotes the advocacy of court-appointed volunteers so that every child who is abused or neglected can be safe, have a forever home and the opportunity to flourish.
Donations for CASA can be made at www.GoFund.me/e94e06e9

“Neighbors Beyond Neighborhoods”
An artistic experience with the humans of Morgantown
Come see over 40 works of art, made by and about members of our homeless community. This view of unseen Morgantown aims to create a safe space to meet, learn, and change the stigma surrounding people who are homeless.
This exhibition benefits the Friendship House located in downtown Morgantown.

Morgantown Art Party does not have set hours of operation at this time, but we will be open Saturdays and Sundays from 11am-4pm throughout April, excluding Easter Sunday. You can also contact us to arrange a time to stop by to see the exhibits throughout the week.

Morgantown Art Party is a volunteer-run 501-c3 nonprofit. Our mission is to help local artists and musicians succeed while bringing the community together through art. Please visit www.MorgantownArtParty.com for more information and how you can help the party
