KBB to install decorative maze near Truman Harlow overpass
Keep Brownwood Beautiful (KBB) is moving forward with plans to install a decorative stone maze near the Truman Harlow overpass. The maze is sponsored by Ann Jones Real Estate and will be located near the Blue Pavilion, across from the monthly recycling location in town. The project is an important step forward with KBB’s focus on beautification as well as recycling and cleaning up waste.
Until very recently, the small park housed recycled artwork with glass bottle sculptures and painted dumpsters. This week, the area was cleaned up, with help from the Town of Brownwood and Holland Hauling, who donated their services for the project. While the unusual art was a novel way to showcase repurposed objects, the new maze will be an eye-catcher for the neighborhood as well as a fun place for students from nearby schools to explore. KBB also plans to hold educational opportunities near the maze.
Other donations and sponsorships will be needed to beautify the surroundings of the labyrinth. If you or your organization or business would like to partner with KBB on the project, you can call or text 325-641-0533, or contact KBB on their Facebook page: www.facebook.com/KeepBrownwoodBeautifulTX
KBB is also looking for volunteers to spend a few hours each month keeping Brownwood beautiful with a really fun, community-minded group. If you are interested in volunteering, visit their Facebook page or their website: www.kbbtx.org to learn more.
Funding for the many KBB programs is also needed. Individuals, businesses and organizations are encouraged to donate via PayPal on the KBB website. Brownwood residents can also easily support KBB with a simple $1 donation added to their water bill.
